Dynamics

As experienced operators in the political and/or streaming media space, lead strategists and the Executive Director design the overall strategy. They have authority for decisions and delegate strategy and execution to Directors and Advisors with relevant domain management authority. Directors and Advisors offer input on capacity and govern operations.

Executive Director

  • Role Description: Responsible for overall health and capacity of the organization, and for aligning its operations with its stated goals.
  • Privileges:
 * Broad insight into organizational goals and capacities.
 * Final decision-making authority.
  • Responsibilities:
 * Communicate key decisions.
 * Ensure accountability for Directors and Strategists.
 * Delegate and empower members.

Lead Strategists

  • Role Description: Operatives working with PV to pursue specific goals or projects, empowered with provisional final say on decisions.
  • Privileges:
 * Design and implement strategy, including budgeting and hiring.
 * Final decision-making on their projects in consultation with Executive Director.
  • Responsibilities:
 * Communicate strategic outlines to members.
 * Ensure accountability for Directors and Advisors related to project goals.
 * Delegate and empower members.
 * Report to the Executive Director on projects.

Directors

  • Role Description: Leaders within PV with domain expertise and management authority over PV’s operations.
  • Privileges:
 * Govern volunteer teams.
 * Collaborate with Executive Director on strategic direction.
 * Decision-making on community volunteer roles and assignments.
  • Responsibilities:
 * Provide strategic feedback and capacity assessments to Lead Strategists.
 * Execute tasks for ongoing projects.
 * Inform and gain input from Advisors.
 * Ensure accountability for Advisors and volunteers.
 * Delegate and empower volunteers.

PV Advisors

  • Role Description: Important stakeholders providing input and checks on strategy pursued by leadership.
  • Privileges:
 * Govern volunteer teams.
 * Offer feedback and assessments to Directors.
 * Feedback on and ratify strategic plans.
  • Responsibilities:
 * Execute tasks for ongoing projects.
 * Ensure accountability for volunteers.
 * Delegate and empower volunteers.
