This list is non-exhaustive, and state teams are encouraged to expand and adapt these pages to their organizing needs.

Political Landscape of Georgia

Partisan Composition of Georgia

Overall, Georgia is considered a swing state, with a Cook PVI of R+3 as of 2022, regularly voting for either candidate in statewide races though typically Republican. Their governor is a Republican, while their US Senators and 5 out of 14 of their US Representatives are Democrats. Republicans hold majorities in their state house (102-78) and their state senate (33-23), giving Republicans a trifecta (as of 2/10/24).

Progressive Outlook for Georgia

The overall progressive strategy for Georgia is optimistic. Although there are no major statewide races in the 2024 election cycle and there are no citizen-led ballot initiatives, progressives can influence change on the state level and blunt the power of the Republican legislature by ensuring Biden wins this vital swing state in 2024 as well as canvassing for state house and senate candidates in order to lay the groundwork for a blue or progressive Georgia. As Georgia is an open primary state, you can participate in whichever party's primary makes more sense to depending on where you live.
