Political Landscape of Nevada
Partisan Composition of Nevada
Overall, Nevada is considered a swing state, with a Cook PVI of R+1 as of 2022, regularly voting for Democrats and Republicans in statewide races, sometimes on the same ballot. Both US Senators are Democrats as are three out of four US House representatives, whereas the governor is a Republican. Democrats hold majorities in the state house (28-14) and state senate (13-8), though the Republican governor has veto power.
Progressive Outlook for Nevada
The overall progressive strategy for Nevada is hopeful. Though Lombardo is a moderate Republican, he regularly uses his veto pen, having vetoed 75 bills in the 2023 legislative session alone. Progressive priorities should involve preserving the three Democrat US house seats, which could theoretically all go red in a bad election cycle, affect change through citizen-led ballot measures to blunt Lombardo's effects, and eventually replace Lombardo with a Democrat governor to achieve meaningful change and stop him from stopping the state legislature. This is also a key swing state for Biden to win in the 2024 presidential races. As Nevada is a closed primary state, be sure to register for whichever party you'd like to change the results of the primary for.

November 5th General Election
Nevada is a swing state and it also has three swing districts in the US House. Incumbents running for re-election are listed below.
- Jacky Rosen for US Senate - As Nevada is a swing state, supporting Jacky Rosen in 2024 is essential to keep the senate blue and land a potential trifecta in 2025-2027.
- Dina Titus for US House NV-1 - Even though Dina Titus complained about the new maps that helped Lee and Horsford, she still beats the alternative in November.
- Susie Lee for US House NV-3 - Another swing seat Democrat who needs your support.
- Steven Horsford for US House NV-4 - Another swing seat Democrat who needs your support.
Ballot Questions
- Nevada Question 3, Top-Five Ranked-Choice Voting Initiative (2024): Though ranked-choice voting is non-partisan, it helps candidates go to office with a true majority of votes, forcing candidates to deliver or be challenged from both sides. Vote YES for ranked-choice voting.
- Nevada Question 4, Remove Slavery as Punishment for Crime from Constitution Amendment (2024) : Vote YES to remove slavery as a punishment from Nevada's constitution. I hope this is self-explanatory.
