Partisan Composition of South Dakota
Overall, South Dakota is considered a deep red state, with a Cook PVI of R+16 as of 2022, regularly voting 60-65% Republican in statewide races. South Dakota's entire federal delegation and governorship is Republican. Republicans also have supermajorities in the state house (62-7-1 vacancy) and state senate (30-4-1 vacancy) as of 1/29/24.
Progressive Outlook for South Dakota
